IS BRAZIL PSYCHODELICLY THREATENED?

The exploratory use of ayahuasca, without proper sustainability and recognition of indigenous peoples, can bring a series of dangers and negative consequences for indigenous peoples and the sacred plants themselves.

Unbridled exploitation of the Amazonian compound can lead to scarcity and extinction of the plants if it always tries to meet growing demands.

Commercial use of ayahuasca without recognition and respect for indigenous peoples can lead to improper appropriation of culture and millennia-old knowledge.

What is behind the millionaire retreats for Europeans and North Americans that take place deep in the forest or in an apartment in the Jardins neighborhood?

The fight to protect ayahuasca is a fight to protect the culture and rights of indigenous peoples. While some seek to profit from its exploitation, others fight for the preservation of these sacred plants and their varied ancestral traditions. We need to ensure that the benefits of ayahuasca are achieved in an ethical and fair manner, respecting indigenous peoples and their millennia-old wisdom.

In addition to the unbridled exploitation of the production, storage, and distribution of psychedelic compounds, there is the incessant attempt to patent some practice or management procedure from a biomedical perspective.
